Grumpy people due to an older age?

I don’t believe in such thing! Base on my observation, people should be grumpy over some things, or if someone provokes you or the monthly PMising. That I can understand, but not because they are older, maybe that’s another one thing. I am no Psychologist to learn about this entire thing.

I’ve heard so many sayings about an older person being so grumpy just because he/she is older. Being in my early 30’s I am mature enough to know which one is dumb or which one is immature or the matured one. I am saying only for myself, sometimes, is it so hard to understand people’s behavior. Maybe they aren’t as lucky as I am. Maybe, they would rather be mean instead of being nice.

As for those who wish to be grumpy and mean? You are missing the wonderful world to explore. Be happy all the time, life is so precious to enjoy every bit of it.

Thanks for reading!!!

  1. I know several older people that are grumpy because they choose to be. One told me they were in customer service for many years being forced to be nice to rude people and they are just sick of people now and want to be left alone so they act grumpy so people will stay away. I hope I am not grumpy when I get older, time will tell.

  2. Just a thought maybe the older people are grumpy not because they are old but because of the lack of respect so many people have these days. Or how much everything has changed over the last even 20 years things have gone down hill. You don't see the natural same interactions and things with people. I don't know just a thought.

I work in retail so I deal with people all day I finally figured if I smile and do my best maybe it will change their day and/or attitude.

  3. I don't necessary think people are grumpy because of their age, but because of their age they have seen many things to make them grumpy... Or perhaps it is that fact that they are older that's make them grumpy.

  4. I am not grumpy, well maybe on occasion but not very often. I do have a friend that is definitely grumpy now--his wife and I do not put up with it!!

  6. It is true for some people! My great grandma was a mean lady but I loved her still. My uncle fred was also grumpy, he also thought every one stole from him. It was his forgetfulness though. My grandma who passed a while back she got very mean and angry even said things about race and everything. It was stuff she wouldnt normally do.

  7. I don't believe in older age to cause grumpiness either. I thought that older people get, they become nice and wiser. Just like my FIL.

  9. I think it depends some people are just grumpy. They spend their whole lives grumpy so why change when they are older. I know a few older people that do get grumpy but it is because they are limited on what they can do and they are lonely.
